Here it is, December 23rd at Cackle Creek. I bet you’re all thinking that this is just another group picture of a pheasant hunt. Well, what you’re really looking at is a group of disabled Veterans, along with their sons, with the look on their faces as if they’d just pitched a no-hitter, bowled a 300 game, or hit a hole-in-one. This look shows the perfection they achieved that day!
Veterans Afield U.A. has been doing 30-bird pheasant tower shoots for the last 15 years. During this time, no group of disabled Vets has shot more than 20 birds at one shoot. Well, that’s no longer true. On this day, the troopers went out and shot a perfect 30 birds! There was not one miss! In their favor was the wind, temperature, and perfect fields. It was their reverse of a perfect storm. To them it was the equivalent of a no-hitter, 300 game, and hole-in-one all put together in one!
Great job, Troopers! 30 for 30!!
