Spring Turkey Hunt 2025

A Successful Hunt

The first photo is of Air Force Veteran Howard “Howie” Luxner with the first and only turkey taken on this year’s hunt. He harvested a nice 22 lb. Jake with a very nice 35 yd. shot. He is pictured with Farm Gang member Tim Koenen who did most of the work. He had the blind set up, did the calling, and made sure it would be a good clean shot. Tim must have called those stubborn birds close at least 5 times, covering over a half hour of trick calling. Tim’s trickery finally won out after all that work because he started to get them to come in. When all was just right, Tim made the call and Howie did his job. That was teamwork at its best! Congratulations to Howie on the shot and for Tim doing his magic in the field!

The second photo is of turkey hunter Howie Luxner and Pat Horvath, President of Veterans Afield U.A., enjoying a little photo op back at the farm. It just goes to show you, no matter what your disability, the Farm Gang is going to do whatever it takes to help you harvest that turkey. Howie’s turkey kept the winning streak going. We have never been skunked in the 4 years we’ve been invited to hunt with the Farm Gang. Thanks, Farm Gang, for making this another successful hunt!
