Veterans Afield U.A. & The Farm Gang
This photo is of the Easley & Schafer family and friends Farm Gang who hosted this year’s (2025) spring turkey hunt for the Veterans Afield U.A. organization. The Farm Gang consists of approximately 24 family and friends. The hunts are done in Montello, WI, on 440 acres of natural woods and fields. This is the 4th year the Farm Gang has hosted the spring turkey hunt, and they are now starting to work out the details for the 2026 spring turkey hunt. The Farm Gang takes out 4 disabled Veterans for 3 days of hard hunting. The Farm Gang provides everything from hunting guides, getting the disabled Veterans to and from their blinds (which are all built ahead of time), making and serving all meals, providing guns and ammo if needed, and cleaning the birds after a successful hunt. During the afternoon of the last day, the Veterans and Farm Gang members get to interact and share the stories of the 3 days of hunting. There is also an exchange of gifts for all participants. There is nothing the Farm Gang won’t do to make the hunt enjoyable and memorable for our disabled Veterans. Their goal is to see the disabled Veterans harvest a turkey. They are giving our disabled Veterans the opportunity to do something they thought they would never be able to do again. Veterans Afield U.A. and the Veterans who participated in this year’s and past year’s hunts are forever grateful to the Farm Gang.
God Bless the Farm Gang and God Bless America
