At exactly 11:00 A.M. on July 4th, the Franklin parade got off to a great start! We can thank Ann Adamski for setting up the parade every year and making sure all of the participants are properly lined up. Ann does a great job making sure everything comes together. Her efforts of success can be measured by all of the spectators and participants enjoying the event. The Franklin Police and Fire Departments were on hand to ensure everyone's safety and provide assistance if necessary.
Veterans Afield U.A. was in the #2 spot as we are each year. The main concern besides spectators' safety is the reliability of our trailer and float. We need not worry about the latter due to our friends like Paul Downs at Hanna Trailer Supply. This is the 4th year that Paul and his staff have taken care of us to ensure we don't have to worry about a breakdown.
There were at least 40+ groups participating in this year's parade. It's a great feeling to see all families observing and waving flags. What is especially encouraging is seeing all of the young people out there cheering us all on. My Veterans and I are honored to be able to participate in such a great event, and to see everyone there makes it all worthwhile. We look forward to participating again next year!
God Bless America
